Eckerd Connects' Community Alternatives is the community-based care lead agency for child welfare and foster care services in Hillsborough county, serving about 2,900 children and their families each day. A Program of Eckerd Connects and governed by a community-based board, Eckerd Connects Community Alternatives has developed an integrated and collaborative system of care for safety, well-being and permanency of vulnerable and at risk children, while strengthening and supporting families. In its role as lead agency or "system manager", Eckerd Connects provides: contract and fiscal oversight; performance and data management; adoption support; resource development; and utilization management.

Position Concept
Responsible for performing Criminal/Civil Background Screenings and Diligent Search in accordance with Chapters 39, 65, 435 and DCF Policy. Serves as an important member of the Information Management (IM) team of the Community Based Care Data Services.
Essential Functions
Position Specifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate s degree preferred.
Experience: Four years computer work experience required. Law or Criminal Justice knowledge preferred.
Skills: Computer experience in a Windows environment, Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), ability to learn and utilize other software programs. Detail oriented, able to work independently, exercise judgment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
Physical Demands: Ability to sit at desk for long periods of time, and tolerate extended periods of data entry. Must be free of communicable diseases as required by the state and to the extent that knowledge is attainable under the law.
Other: Must meet state criminal background check requirements.
Travel: Must be able to meet requirements for Eckerd s Auto Insurance and be able to drive for business purposes. Maintain an appropriate and valid state driver s license.
