JOB SUMMARY:

CorVel in Tampa, FL is seeking a full time Data Entry Specialist. The Data Entry Specialist is responsible for the input of new worker s compensation claims received electronically accurately and efficiently all while reaching and exceeding daily goals. Also responsible for assisting internal and external customer with any questions or concerns such as (but not limited to) workflows, duplicate claims, routing issues, claim status etc.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Entering new worker s compensation claims received electronically
  • Processing existing claims that may have been initiated by 24/7 Nurses
  • Researching and resolving requests from internal and external customers
  • Identifying legal documents and processing accordingly
  • Following special handling instructions for each individual customer
  • Identifying errors and/or any discrepancies on claims
  • Identifying duplicates and when to submit work orders for a claim merge/delete
  • Detailed documentation of any action that has been taken on a claim
  • Making outbound calls to obtain/verify missing information needed to process claim
  • Assisting inbound callers (occasionally)
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance in all aspects of communications.
  • May provide assistance in training of new employees.
  • Provides general support
  • Punctual and consistent attendance is required in this position
  • Additional duties as assigned.

    • KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, mainly Outlook, Excel, WORD
  • Detail Oriented
  • Ability to type at a rate of at least 40 words per minute with minimal errors
  • Paperless entry with 2 monitors
  • Ability to independently use problem solving logics
  • Goal oriented with eagerness to achieve and surpass quota
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • The ability to work independently
  • The ability to work in a fast paced/production environment
  • Effectively communicate with others

    • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Alpha and 10 Key keystrokes-8,000-10,000 kph and accuracy rate of 95% or more
  • Data Entry experience

  • Experience with workers compensation state filings

  • EBIX Experience preferred

  • Electronic Data Interchange handling preferred (EDI)

  • Experience with process development a plus

    • PRODUCTION EXPECTATION:

  • Target quota of a minimum of 100+ messages processed daily when processing existing claims45 messages processed daily when processing new claims or researching requests
  • Maintain an error rate of 1.% or less
